CORAL GABLES - Actors' Playhouse Musical
Theatre for Young Audiences announces a musical version
of the classic Brothers Grimm tale Hansel and Gretel,
adapted by Richard KortKamp, with music from the opera
by Engelbert Humperdinck and lyrics by Adelheid Wette.
Directed by Earl Maulding, this enchanting musical follows
Gretel, the poor broom makers daughter, and her
brother Hansel, a boy with a voracious appetite, on a
magical journey into a mysterious forest. There they encounter
lively fairies, mischievous woodsprites, a protective
sandman and of course a witch with a delicious cottage
and an unusual recipe for gingerbread children!
Performances of Hansel and Gretel will be on the Mainstage
of the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile in downtown Coral
Gables every Saturday at 2 p.m. from June 29 through August
7. Birthday parties are welcome. Actors' Playhouse offers
special birthday packages with cake and pizza options.
Prearranged discount tickets are available for school
